GTA V. Podcast. 3 questions – 3 answers.

Damn, I completely forgot that I recorded this video. And uploaded it to YouTube. And in general, it took so long and tediously to take shape that, by and large, it has already lost all its relevance. But since I filed it and remembered, then let it be. In case anyone will be interested. But I don’t have any special expectations about this, of course.

In general, the essence is simple – I realized that when playing GTA, especially now, there is a pack of not so fundamental, but quite important (as it seems to me):
1. Online or single?
2. First or third person view?
3. Mouse or gamepad?

This is what everyone talks about in the video.

And I can bomb with the ease that the pads made in aiming. Yes, a standard keyboard player will shoot at least a dozen standard assholes in a “machine vs machine” battle. But in an open battle, if you are on the keyboard against a normal auto-aimer, then you need to work hard to at least keep the score even. And this despite the fact that your opponent just holds down two buttons and doesn’t blow his whistle.

I, like a skilled boyar, am fiercely indignant.

Well first of all. The plot in GTA has always been not very good. And as for me, none of the games had any kind of direct climax at the end. In the fifth, unlike the others, it’s not the plot that drags you along, but the dialogues, a lot of fascinating dialogues, which are also gorgeously voiced. There are enough secondary characters that are memorable. It’s just that many of them are outside the storyline, but under question marks. This is where all the crazy, annoying, funny and just plain cool characters hide. And comparing parts 4 and 5 in single player, I can’t remember anything at all in the four.

Secondly, GTA has always been designed for a 3rd person view, and the 1st person view comes as a bonus, a burden for the re-release. Of course, he’s cool and you can play with him, but I still agree that he’s a little crooked. I don’t even know who could play in 1st person all the time.

Well, thirdly, I’m even sorry that the game is designed for a gamepad, and this is true. Gas/brake adjustment, vibration when driving on the side of the road, and even a basic weapon/radio station selection wheel. But it’s still more convenient to shoot with a mouse. And for this to somehow spoil the character’s roleplaying… well, that’s quite strange. Well, in GTA GG has always been some kind of terminator-terrorist, It’s strange to complain about this. And I had the idea that while you were shooting, you could use the keyboard mouse, and when you got behind the wheel, you took the gamepad. Brilliant!

1. About online and single fierce plus. In the end, they give us a kind of settlement with our enemies, but we don’t feel a bit of hatred towards them. There’s no pleasure in killing them. It looks like… Another mission. I’m talking about the choice to save both Trevor and Michael. Otherwise, except that Trevor made me happy 🙂
2. Also a plus, but for different reasons. From the third, whatever one may say. The first one may have better immersion and all that, but the viewing angle is just damn lacking – it’s inconvenient.
3. No comments. Peka-boyars ^_^

If I may, two comments in general www.cosmo-casino.co.uk on the quality of the video:
1. A lot of water in the part about the first question (single or online)
2. I understand that you had an idea – you sat down and wrote it down, without preparation, without a “sheet with a speech” and other crap, yes, and that’s where all the problems come from. But damn they are. Interferes with perception.

No, machine guns don’t have auto-aim, although in this particular case it would make sense to have one.

I’ll even say more, the last stage of the Pacific Standard robbery can easily be completed on an armored Kuruma :))

there is, but there is exactly 0 meaning in it. Real players, not AI, when you’re on a motorcycle, they aim exclusively at your carcass and the armored/unarmored nature of the motorcycle to a fault.

I completely agree on the first two points.

Yes, the plot is practically incomprehensible, and tries to focus only on the characters’ characters, which, by the way, are written very strongly. They would also have a strong plot to work with… And so, the drama about some kind of long-standing betrayal cannot be compared with the same drama of an emigrant in America from the fourth part. Maybe someday the creators will inject some drive with the help of plot additions, but for now..

First person view… Just a trick. GTA has always been about third-person view. Dot.

But perhaps we can discuss the management. Let me make a reservation right away: I play alternately on a mouse/keyboard and a gamepad. Mouse/keyboard – shootouts and short car trips, gamepad – flight equipment and long car trips. For me this is the perfect combination.
Regarding the necessary complexity that Vanya talks about: I don’t support his opinion. Firstly, the difficulty in the game is enough even for keyboard mice, you just need to complete the missions on the Hard level. Secondly, the auto-aim… this thing freezes me out, making shooting absolutely bland, as if excluding me from the process. Thirdly, the difficulty of shooting on a gamepad in transport is akin to the difficulty of flying a helicopter using a keyboard mouse… Fuck that! If Vanya wants full roleplay, then let him fly this way in a combat helicopter and try to hit someone with the onboard machine guns. Realism will be full of it :)) That’s what I mean, adequate complexity is a good thing, but complicating the game by choosing an inconvenient control tool smacks of masochism, in my opinion.

Speaking of helicopter control… Why the hell in a completely arcade game (in terms of controlling cars and planes) did they make helicopter control close to simulators?? What the.

I play on the console, there is no choice at all)

Agree. Now, if this story about a long-standing betrayal had been thought out in more detail, it would have been better – but it looks like they came up with a premise, and the denouement occurred to the developers as they were being developed. And they talked about hundreds of pages of plot… alas, rather weak in the end.

And they have auto-aim? O_o Actually, by the way, I would argue about the “inconvenient control tool” – it’s a matter of habit and nothing more. After several hours in cold games and other shooters, I personally turn off aim in most games – and that’s fine. I leave it in GTA because I play it to relax. And the challenge is enough on the same hard.

And I had the idea that while you were shooting, you could use the keyboard mouse, and when you got behind the wheel, you took the gamepad. Brilliant!

I meant in comparison with the control of cars and airplanes.

In the single missions of the five, everything is too scripted, there is absolutely no way to complete the task in any alternative way, in the four it was much better.
